After retiring one thing on my wish list was learning to paint. Painting has provided me with an enjoyable, relaxing hobby which I wish I had taken up earlier. It has also given me a greater appreciation of the wonderful colours that nature surrounds us with.
I was interested in art as a small child. I had a successful solo exhibition in 1993 at Doncaster Art Gallery. I have recently delved into acrylic but prefer water colours. I have been painting in water colours for 28 years. I like the spontaneous aspect which allows for imagination.
I am inspired by nature and all things beautiful. I have been interested in all types of drawing and water colours right from my early school days. Now my mediums include acrylics, dry pastels and water colours. For me, art is the way to find peace and serenity in the confines of my home.
I always had an interest in drawing from childhood. I have selected oils as my preferred medium because, if I stuff it up, I can cover it up and continue. I am exploring many directions in oil painting landscapes, seascapes, portraits and abstracts.
I am a hobby artist who has been painting for over 20 years. My favorite mediums are oil or watercolour, but I have also dabbled in pastels (getting into them with my fingers to blend colours). I love painting landscapes, which include putting horses, dogs, birds or possums into them, to bring the painting alive. I attend a few art shows a year and get a buzz if I have sod one, or won a prize. Recently I won first prize at the Whittlesea show for an Oil painting of a wildcat among foliage.
Originally from Orange NSW and relocated to Victoria in 1985. I have always been interested in oil painting since I was a child, having grown up around fine artists such as Greg Turner, Tony Mason, Doug Sealy etc. I began painting in 1977, I am a self-taught painter with no formal lessons. My passion for recreating beautiful and harsh landscapes of Australia has been my drive force. I have had successful exhibitions and won best painting in country shows.
I am a self-taught Artist. I started painting as a hobby and completely captivated by the beauty of Nature. I have developed my painting skills and techniques over the years and discovered a style very unique to me. I enjoy painting landscape, seascape, abstract, surrealism and impressionist artwork using acrylic and oil medium.
I am a Mum, a Nurse and a local Artist. Recently completing my Visual Arts Diploma at NMIT, had success in group exhibitions at Montsalvat, the Eltham Library and Louis Joel Art Gallery. I have also been a finalist in the Silk Cut Award, the Linden Arts Postcard Show.
30yrs ago Science and Art couldn’t be studied together, it was either one or the other. So it was science at 20, and Art at 40 at TAFE. I worked in the disability field as an instructor, specializing in arts and crafts, teach adults with disability. Currently a member of Craigieburn Art Group, I am developing my art skills. My many Australian Landscape paintings adorn in my hallway and are frequently admired by the traveller, who pass through.
I am a dedicated fine visual artist who loves to paint and draw with a different variety of mediums. In my spare time, for the past 25 years, I have been a practising art at home, and recently have picked up interest in representing various aspects of my life in the form of abstract art. To further refine and redefine my knowledge in abstract art, I am recently undergoing an online course called Art Of Flow, by Sydney artist, Gabbie Lancaster.

I started art a couple of years ago, on retirement. Trying all mediums and varied subjects, learning with C.A.G. and U3A.
I grew up in Barham NSW, by the Murray River. I love Art, Science, Ancient History. My main practice has been focused on Textiles, and in recent years Mosaic. I've attended two Roman Mosaic study tours in Italy and exhibited in Victoria. To improve my mosaic practice since retiring from the workforce I am now learning to draw and paint. So far I'm sticking to drawing and acrylic painting. I am new, but am already loving the Craigieburn Art Group ethos.
It was in the year 2000 that I purchased an ‘how to’ art magazine. I quickly moved on from doing still life drawings to watercolours. Over the following years, through art classes and demonstrations, I learned how to use various mediums. Today I prefer pastels. My favourite subjects are children, and nature. I have had success with these at art shows, competitions and sales. I find it invaluable to be a member of an art group, to continue my growth as an artist.
Always having a passion for art and excelling in visual art during school, I finally started painting as a serious hobby in 2020 during the Covid lockdowns. As a self-taught artist painting with acrylics, I am enjoying learning from other members and seeing the world in different and interesting ways. I enjoy painting landscapes with a range of colours.
I am a young, self-taught artist, who has always been enthusiastic about art and illustration. I am inspired by the children’s books and screen media’s simple and colourful worlds. Thanks to them, I decided to create paintings which give a feeling of happiness and comfort. My most common theme is animals and nature, with bright colours, usually with gauche paint or colour pencils.
I have worked with different medium throughout my life, pencil (coloured, graphite, paste and watercolour) oils, acrylic, soft pastel or ink, my main issue was I love them all. In September 2017 I retired from Note Printing Australia doing Network Administration. I have since found more time to do the things I love, Art! At present watercolour and pastels and water-soluble oils are my main focus. I am very passionate about making the best works possible for my personal plea
I am a self-taught retired Artist who has recently completed a Degree in Design Arts from LCI Melbourne in Collingwood. I have had a successful solo exhibition at Artful Yoga Gallery in St Kilda. I exhibited my abstract landscape paintings and limestone sculptures. I am a self-taught artist who has discovered my passion for paintings through my love for colors & sketching over many years. I paint with watercolours and acrylics. My work focuses on architecture, landscapes, and other interesting subjects. I equally have explored paper craft, origami, recycling cardboard into majestic wall arts, recycling empty glass containers into beautiful hanging lanterns and much more. Making handmade greeting cards and bookmarks is one of my favourite art activities.
From childhood, I enjoyed drawing from nature, especially trees. A few times in my adult life, opportunities have enabled me to embellish an aricle, item or walls. During 2020 lockdowns, I developed a yearning to reconnect with nature and started doing regular paintings and printing. As a Herbalist and Naturopath, foraging for seeds and plants is a joy. Joining CAG has boosted my opportunity to do creative works, regularly & learn from others.
